HOW TO PREPARE
MIX SESSION
- Make sure your performances are top notch and everything sounds just the way you want it.
- If any tracks needed to be cleaned up (spill, clicks, pops, burps) make sure this is done ahead of time. Otherwise editing charges will apply.
- We do not fix timing and pitch issues. If these need to be done see above.
- Be sure all files are grouped in their own folders (Drums, Guitars, Vocals, etc.) and each track is properly labeled (01_Kick, 02_Snare, etc.)
- Make sure your audio files are .WAV format and at least 44.1/16. MP3 files are a no-no.
- Leave headroom. If any type of compression has been applied on the individual tracks make a note of those settings
- Though most mix sessions are typically unattended, it's fine to have one representative in the room during a session. Choose him/her wisely.
- No illegal drugs are permitted.
- Money: A 50% deposit is required no later than seven (7) prior to a session. Balance is due before any work walks out the door.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, 48 hour advance notice is required or you forfeit your deposit.
RECORDING SESSION
- Make sure you're tight and well rehearsed. This will save you time and money, not to mention a quality recording.
- Have your songs finished, then see above again.
- Unless doing a live recording leave all your friends/family/children/spouses/others at home. They will ultimately be a distraction and cost you time and money.
- Be sober.

VINYL MASTERING
- Make sure your final mixes sound exactly the way you want them to. Though mastering can enhance your mix it cannot fix a bad one.
- Leave plenty of headroom. -4db is a good compromise.
- Make sure your audio files are .WAV format and at least 44.1/16. MP3 files are a no-no.
- Keep in mind vinyl's limitations. The side length for a 7" should not be more than 6 minutes and no longer than 20 minutes for 12". Longer lengths can introduce distortion.
